Sherman Parks and Recreation is excited to offer a Flag Football League this Fall!
Registration for the Fall League will close on 7/24.
We will have Player ‘tryouts’ on/around August 4th.
We will have a Coaches’ Draft/Meeting on 8/6 for team selection and practice selection (by the coaches.)
Registration thru Sherman Parks and Recreation will include: a team jersey, team placement, team practices (includes footballs, field space and flag belts) and league games.
Practices for the league will take place in Sherman parks during the week, starting the week of 8/12. Teams will receive two 90 min practices each week for the first 3 weeks (8/12-8/31). Teams will drop to only one 90 min practice per week once games start (around 9/2).
Teams will play an 8 game regular season. Games will take place at Center Street Park or the Pecan Grove Athletic Complex. Games will be played on Saturdays starting September 7th. The league will include an end of season tournament.
Leagues offered:
1st – 2nd Grade
1st/2nd Grade will play using a 6 v 6 format.
1st/2nd Grade will play using a Wilson “K2” Ball.
3rd-4th Grade
3rd/4th Grade will play using a 5 v 5 format.
3rd/4th Grade will play using a Wilson “K2” Ball.
5th-6th Grade
5th/6th Grade will play using a 5 v 5 format.
5th/6th Grade will play using a Wilson TDJ Ball.
**Registration grade will be based on 2024-2025 school year**

Cost: $90 per player
Practices: Begin week of 8/12
Location of practices: Center St Park/ Pecan Grove Athletic Complex
Games: Begin September 7th and run thru November 2ns (up to 11/23 with makeup dates if needed)

This league’s success is dependent on the volunteer coaches. The Sherman Parks & Recreation team offers the tools and resources to help you coach your team to success. To be a volunteer coach you can sign up when you register your child or you can call the Sherman Parks & Recreation Office. A mandatory background check will be done.
