DESCRIPTION:Fathers it is time to reconnect with your boys under the stars at Herman Baker Park. Each year we have fathers return back to the event saying their kids were begging them to sign up again because it is something they look forward to every year. At the Father Son Campout\, men\, or other father-like figures\, will set up their tents\, cook dinner\, play games like lazer tag\, and go on a nature hike together.  \nActivities will start at 6:00PM\, but it is encouraged that fathers and sons show up as early as 5:00PM to begin setting up their tents. A Hot Dog dinner and a donut breakfast will be provided. We will have plenty of water available\, but any other snacks that participants would like would need to be provided by the participant. \n  \nRegister today!

DESCRIPTION:Earth Day is a wonderful day to celebrate everything about our planet. We are partnering with the Earth Day Festival to host a Recycled Art Contest. Participants in grade school are encouraged to display their art. \nThe rules of the competition are simple. All art must accomplish one of two things: either the art must celebrate our planet\, or it must utilize recycled material. If a painting\, drawing\, or coloring is submitted the art work must lay flat. If a 3D piece of art is submitted\, it must not take up any more space than 1 cubic foot. \nAll artwork will need to be submitted to the Parks and Recreation no later than April 18 by the end of the day. Submissions should also have the bottom portion of the contest rules attached to the art. \nThe art will be on display at the Municipal Ballroom from 9AM-4PM. It can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation office between Monday and Friday the following week. \nRecycled Art Contest Rule

DESCRIPTION:Girls will always remember their first date\, especially when it’s with Dad!  The Father Daughter Dance will be an unforgettable night filled with dancing\, laughter\, and a lifetime of memories.  We invite young ladies of all ages\, along with their dad or other adult male figure in their lives.  Admission includes a night of fun with a DJ spinning great tunes\, a ticket for door prize drawings\, beverages and sweet treats\, photos\, and lots of fun and smiles.   \nCapture the memories by taking individual pictures with dad and friends each and every year with fun photos provided by Cadence Studios! Photos are ready instantly and will be printed on site of the event.  In addition\, Sherman Parks and Recreation will be taking pictures throughout the event and will share them at a later date that can be downloaded directly from the web. \nBack by popular demand\, we will have a Friday dance and two Saturday dances.  Please be aware of which dance you are registering for on the registration page.We are still limiting the number of participants in each dance to 150. DESCRIPTION:Girls will always remember their first date\, especially when it’s with Dad!  The Father Daughter Dance will be an unforgettable night filled with dancing\, laughter\, and a lifetime of memories.  We invite young ladies of all ages\, along with their dad or other adult male figure in their lives.  Admission includes a night of fun with a DJ spinning great tunes\, a ticket for door prize drawings\, beverages and sweet treats\, photos\, and lots of fun and smiles.   \nCapture the memories by taking individual pictures with dad and friends each and every year with fun photos provided by Cadence Studios! Photos are ready instantly and will be printed on site of the event.  In addition\, Sherman Parks and Recreation will be taking pictures throughout the event and will share them at a later date that can be downloaded directly from the web. \nBack by popular demand\, we will have a Friday dance and two Saturday dances.  Please be aware of which dance you are registering for on the registration page.  We are still limiting the number of participants in each dance to 150. No worries\, the lights are turned on each night throughout the month of December from 5:30PM-11:30PM! \n\nOur very own Pecan Grove West Park will shine a little brighter at our Annual Holiday Nights of Lights Event. Make plans to join us to celebrate the turning on of over 7 miles of Christmas lights strung among the trees. Take a stroll along the paved trail; enjoy live music from Jared Mitchell Band\, cozy up with someone you love while sipping on a warm cup of hot chocolate. That’s not all\, come prepared to join us for a snowball fight\, s’mores\, food trucks and bounce houses. Don’t forget to snag a picture with Santa also!\nCan’t join us?
