The Kid’s Fishing Derby is a great opportunity for families to spend quality time outdoors together with each other! Pebblebrook pond will be stocked with nearly 1,000 trout to ensure that every kid casting will have an opportunity to catch a fish! All participants must register to participate in the derby. Registration is FREE and all participants will receive a goodie bag during registration!
All participants should make sure to keep their best fish because prizes will be given to the kids in each age category that have the heaviest string of 5, the biggest fish, and those who participate in the casting contest. Fish caught before 9AM will not be counted towards the prizes. Make sure to visit the Parks and Recreation tent during the event for a FREE hotdog lunch!
We do encourage adults to refrain from fishing during the fishing derby, and to help out kids who may be fishing for the first time. We will observe Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations, meaning kids will not need a fishing license to participate, but there are limits on the number of fish they are allowed to keep.
